It's About Time
Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent.
Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.
~Carl Sandburg
The issue of TIME is a rather sophisticated, complicated and problematic concept, full of many intriguing twists and turns for those who try to fully understand it. There is the nature of time often discussed by philosophers and scientists as they attempt to define it. There is the clock or real time that allows us to create order in the hectic pace of day to day life. Calendar time marks the changing of seasons, approaching holidays, and special occasions. It keeps track of our place in the world by counting the years and the coming or passing of age. Then, there is our relationship with time, our personal sense of time, out of which we create the experience of chaos or order. Time can be your friend and ally or it can be the enemy who is constantly sabotaging life.
The way you use, or do not use, time is relevant to your overall experience of life. Whether you are aware of it or not, every single occurrence and each individual moment of your life is vitally important. When you choose to consciously and deliberately use time, each and every second offers insight into the complexities of the world around you. You become better organized, more creative and develop the ability to connect openly and easily to your fullest potential. When time slips away from you, then you have lost a precious commodity that can never be reclaimed. It is a precious jewel that is lost to the sea of unimaginable treasures, teaming with tremendous possibilities for an existence beyond your dreams. Once it is lost, it is gone forever.
There comes a time when the world gets quiet and the only thing left
is your own heart. This is the time to Breathe and to listen.
Adapted from Sarah Desssen
In the context of time, control brings freedom. This does not mean that you precisely plan or organize every moment, but when you manage your time well, it rewards you many times over. Taking time to be patient or do something right the first time, saves you from correcting mistakes or repeating your actions. Taking time to understand brings clarity and releases you from the state of confusion. When you take time to exercise or keep in shape, you save the time lost in fatigue or illness. Taking time for yourself shows that you value who you are and rewards you with peace of mind. Spending time connecting to others, earns companionship and eliminates isolation or loneliness. Take care of your time and treat it as a priceless product. Fill each moment with the very best you have to give and it will return to you valuable options in the future to come.
There is no tomorrow, there is only today. Are you waiting for some illusionary time frame to arrive from somewhere in the future in order to follow your hearts desire? When you have time, will you take that class, visit a friend or take a longed for vacation? You may find yourself waiting, and waiting, for just “the right time” to follow your dreams. Being focused or committed to a plan for the future is important but it may holding you hostage and separate from this moment. Now is the time to free yourself from the limiting beliefs that hold you back and to recognize the gifts that are uniquely yours. It is the time to open your eyes to the truth of how much you have to contribute to this world. Now is the time to experience the real joy in who and what you are.
Take Time
Take time to think; it is the source of power.
Take time to need; it is the foundation of wisdom
Take time to play; it is the secret of staying young.
Take time to be quiet; it is the opportunity to seek thy soul.
Take time to be aware; it is the opportunity to help others.
Take time to love and be loved; it is God's greatest gift.
Take time to laugh; it is the music of the soul.
Take time to be friendly; it is the road to happiness.
Take time to dream; it is what the future is made of.
Take time to Breathe; it has the power to change your world.
